Ayumi Kidoko
Born in 1988 in Chiba Prefecture, she graduated from Musashino Art University.
She is a painter.
She believes that the flat representation of figurative elements is a quality unique to painting, drawing inspiration from the distinctively flat compositions of traditional Japanese art forms such as Ukiyo-e and Yamato-e. With meticulous attention to detail, she captures organic forms like marine life, birds, insects, and flowers, infusing her works with a harmonious blend of realism and fantasy.
Her use of contemporary colors—drawn from sources such as illuminations, neon lights, and computer graphics—combined with the vivid hues of insects and tropical birds, has earned her widespread acclaim.
